Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama (1935)
Paris, France: Today an international poll – covering 6,135 adults aged between 16 and 64 in Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United States – revealed that the Dalai Lama is the second most popular leader in the world (Barack Obama was voted first, Hillary Clinton third). Thumbs up for the 14th Dalai Lama – a tribute to his hands.
The most remarkable characteristic in the hands of the Dalai Lama are probably the unusual starting point of his ‘apollo line’ (a.k.a. the ‘sun line’): his right hands shows 2 strong sun lines which start in the palmar zone below the heartline & pinky finger (in the ulnar side of the palm).
The Encyclopedia of Palmistry describes that the ‘apollo line’ in general is associated with creativity, brilliancy, and capability for success. And the rather unusual variant of the Dalai Lama’s sun is specified to the following life issue:
“If the line [‘apollo line’] begins from the plane or the mounts of Mars, the indications for success are from stugle and conflict. If it starts on the mounts, this will indicate that the subject’s fighting spirit plays a great part in his or her success.”
NOTICE: In this perspective it is interesting to notice that Nelson Mandela has the same rare ‘apollo line’ characteristic!
Remember: both the Dalai Lama and Nelson Mandela were awarded with the Nobel Peace Prize: the Dalai Lama (1989) won the Nobel Peace Prize for his non-violent struggle for the liberation of Tibet; while Nelson Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize (together with Frederik Willem de Klerk) for his work for the peaceful termination of the apartheid regime in South-Africa.

SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, is both the head of state and the spiritual leader of Tibet. He was born on 6 July 1935, to a farming family, in a small hamlet located in Taktser, Amdo, northeastern Tibet. At the age of two the child, who was named Lhamo Dhondup at that time was recognized as the reincarnation of the 13th Dalai Lama, Thubten Gyatso. The Dalai Lamas are believed to be manifestations of Avalokiteshvara or Chenrezig, the Bodhisattva of Compassion and patron saint of Tibet. Bodhisattvas are enlightened beings who have postponed their own nirvana and chosen to take rebirth in order to serve humanity.

The most remarkable characteristic in the hands of Oprah Winfrey appears to be the (hidden) role of the index finger: the full length of the index finger equals the full length of the ring finger (2D:4D digit ratio = 1.00), and the three major palmar lines all start in the zone below the index finger (NOTICE: the lower branch of the heartline appears to reach out to the side of the palm).
Other interesting characteristics are: her long thumbs (see the first photo above), the ‘independent’ headlines, and a relative low number of minor lines.
NOTICE: Afro-american people are known for having a relatively low 2D:4D finger ratio, so Oprah’s relatively strong pointer finger (also stressed-out by the starting points of the three major palmar lines) could be recognized as a typical ‘female’ characteristic which could be related to here ’empathic’ abilities. The slightly short (low set) pinky finger (both hands) could be related to a high sensitivity for (negative) emotions [which relates to the Big Five dimension Neuroticism].

Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948)
The most remarkable characteristic of Mahatma Gandhi‘s hand is probably the very short pointer finger – a.k.a. the finger of the ‘Ego’ or ‘Persona’.
NOTICE: There are sources claiming that Mahatma Gandhi had a so-called ‘simian line‘, but according the fundamentals of modern palm reading obviously the man didn’t have the notorious line in his right hand – nor his left hand.

Mahatma Gandhi became famous as the pioneer of satyagraha – the nonviolent resistence to tyranny. His philosophy led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights and freedom across the world. Gandhi is commonly known around the world as Mahatma Gandhi (Sanskrit: mahatma or “Great Soul”, an honorific first applied to him by Rabindranath Tagore), and in India also as Bapu, the Father of the Nation. His birthday, 2 October, is commemorated there as Gandhi Jayanti, a national holiday, and worldwide as the International Day of Non-Violence.
